Wonderfull, emotional wedding on Saturday, so lucky to be a part of such a special day with Catherine and Callum.

With the ceremony at the historic St. Mary’s Church within the walls of Portchester Castle and reception not too far away at the Lysses House Hotel in Fareham even the wind and rain couldn’t spoil the day.

Can’t wait to see their faces when we go through the rest of the photos. I think some tissues are going to be needed as I am sure the emotions will come flooding back again.

Congratulations Catherine and Callum, thank you for choosing us to share in your special day.

Take care,

Rich

It was really wonderful to see some of my photos used as part of the Real Weddings feature of the current Guides for Brides magazine. All of these images were taken from last November’s wedding with Chris and Bex at the Lythe Hill hotel.

It’s been a nice quiet start to the year but the excitement is beginning and I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2016 has in store. Lots of weddings that’s for sure!

Take care

Rich

Had a great time photographing Nadine and Kris McMahon’s wedding at the Portsmouth Registry Office on Friday afternoon.

Quite a challenge as the ceremony was at 3:30pm, which meant that it was dark by the time we could do group photographs. Fortunately it was the last wedding of the day so we were able to make use of the ceremony room and the stairway, but it was also interesting to light a couple of portraits outside.

I tent to avoid flash, but there are times such as these where it comes in very handy.

Take care,
Rich

One of the best things about being a wedding photographer (and there are actually a lot of great things!) is seeing the reaction when the Bride and Groom see their photos for the first time.

This week it was the turn of Rebecca and Christopher. They has seen a small selection of photos in the Sneak Peek I posted on Facebook, but had to wait until their return from honeymoon to see the others.

So, what began as a rather grey and dismal day, brightened up immeasurably as the slideshow began…

I am so very pleased to be able to announce that this week I have been awarded Runner-up BIPP SE Region Provisional Photographer of the Year 2015.

The standards required by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) are really high, so to receive any award is such an honour.

This year all winning entries are being exhibited at the Camera Cafe Gallery in London until Tuesday 17th November. It is such a privilege to see one’s work on display amongst images by some of the best photographers in the country.

South East Awards Exhibition Invitation

If you are in the area then please do pop in and take a look, you won’t be disappointed. If you can’t make it then the images can also be seen on the BIPP web site here.

Take care

Rich

Wasn’t long ago I photographed the engagement session with Tina and Mike. That was fun and I figured the wedding would be too – and it certainly was! It was one of those occasions where nothing could spoil the day.

The venue was The Langstone Hotel, with it’s beautiful views over the harbour.

We met Jo and Darren at a wedding fayre about 18 months ago. They booked us on the spot which was great given that there were several other photographers at the fayre that day. I guess we just hit it off right away and I knew they would be a fun couple to work with.

After their honeymoon they came round to see their photos pretty much the first opportunity they had. Within just a couple of days they had chosen all the photos for their album, which I’m sure must be some kind of record!

Really looking forward to delivering the completed album.

Take care

Claire and David – Southdowns Manor Wedding Photography

I have known Claire for quite a long time now, must be more than a dozen years, and she has even modelled for me once (in a wedding dress too!) so I was very happy to be asked to photograph her wedding to David at Southdowns Manor.

It was a chilly day and there was not a lot of light about, but it did mean we could use the Golden Hour (sunset) just after the ceremony. The grounds of the Manor provided a lovely backdrop.
