Abseiling the Spinnaker Tower

As you may know, Lorna works for a local charity, Y Services, which works with young people in the area. Charities are always looking to get donations to help them provide the support and facilities needed.

What better way to raise some funds than with a sponsored event which also happens to be something you have always wanted to do anyway? So here is Lorna, looking rather small as she abseils down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth.

She raised over £500 for Y Services and wanted to say a big Thank You! to everyone who sponsored her.

Take care,

Rich

Family outing to the Natural History Museum of Wales in St Fagans. Not been there for a few years so it was really good to go back and look around again. Only problem is that it’s pretty much impossible to see everything in one day so we’re going to have to go back again soon! If you are ever near Cardiff then I highly recommend you pay a visit.

Coral and Darryl – Portsmouth Wedding Photography

Having only recently photographed Coral and Darryl for their engagement session I was really looking forward to the big day.

For all the bravado, Darryl seemed much more nervous than Coral. She was excited though and they both had a wonderful day with all their friends and family around them.

This photo of Coral outside the church is one of my favourites. Not where you would expect to find a bright red garage door but there it is and with perfect light for a portrait.

Such a lovely couple and a perfect wedding day.

Coral and Darryl – A Southsea Engagement

© 2017 Richard Danter

Loads of fun photographing this lovely couple in Southsea last week. We met just outside the Pyramids and had a wander around the rock gardens and along the sea front.

I think it is fairly safe to say that Darryl was quite comfortable in front of the camera, and whilst Coral was a little more nervous to begin with it didn’t take her long to get in to the swing of things and have some fun.

There are a couple of months to go until the big day, but I am really looking forward to it. I am sure it will be a fantastic day with lots of laughter.

Jess – Portsmouth Portrait Photography

Having worked with Miriam King on a recent portrait shoot she asked me if I would like to work with her again on some more portraits to showcase her hair and makeup. Of course I had to say yes, and now I can share a few examples of her work. Our lovely model for the day was Jess.

Miriam calls this stye her no-makeup makeup.

Costa Rica

© 2017 Richard Danter

After my recent trip to India I wasn’t expecting to be doing any more travelling for a while, but then the chance to go to Costa Rica came up. Having never been there either, I just had to say yes!

And so it was that I found myself almost exactly the opposite side of the Earth to Bangalore, in San Jose.

Temperatures were much more comfortable at around 25C during the day. One thing that surprised me was that it wasn’t all pure blue skies the whole time. In fact much of the time it looked more like the photo above.

But not all the time as this photo across the rooftops shows.

Sadly my trip was very brief, just a few days, and not a lot of free time to explore so I definitely have to go back again some time!

Anyway, until the next time, take care!

The Hawk Conservancy

Lorna and I were invited to the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Andover this week, to celebrate the 25th wedding anniversary of our friends Emma and John.

Though I was not there to photograph the renewal of their vows, I thought I would take along my camera anyway. Though I don’t have the long lenses a nature photographer would have I figured I could still capture some interesting shots of the birds in flight.

If you would like to find out more about the Hawk Conservancy Trust and support their wonderful work, check out their web site: http://www.hawk-conservancy.org

So here are just a couple of the shots I managed to capture.
